KOTA KINABALU, Sept. 17 -- A Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB) staff member is feared drowned after being swept away by strong currents while attempting to cross a flood-hit bridge at Kampung Nuntunan Apin-apin last night.
The victim, believed to be in his 30s, had been working at a nearby substation with two colleagues before the incident.
They reportedly tried to cross a concrete bridge in the area when sudden strong currents struck, causing them to panic. Two managed to reach the riverbank safely, while the victim briefly clung to a rope before losing his grip and being swept away.
