KUALA LUMPUR, Oct. 22 -- Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil said preparations for press coverage of the 47th Asean Summit taking place this Saturday are going smoothly.

He said as of 12 noon today, 34 countries including Malaysia has registered to cover the event.

"A total of 290 media agencies globally has registered to attend the 47th Asean Summit.

"There are 2,854 press personnel who have registered. From the official media in Malaysia there are 648 personnel, local media 397 and international media 1,277 personnel.
