GEORGE TOWN, Aug. 14 -- Penang DAP has not adopted an official position on a motion calling for the party to leave the Cabinet, instead leaving the decision to its delegates at the DAP Convention on Sunday.

DAP central executive committee member Chow Kon Yeow said Penang delegates had been briefed on the motions to be debated and voted on at the convention.

"Each state has its own way of approaching the convention that will take place this Sunday.

"For Penang, the state committee met last Wednesday and we took an open approach," he said.

He said Penang DAP did not take an official state position.

"We are allowing the delegates to make the decision," he told a press conference at the Chief Minister's Office in Komtar here today.
