KUALA LUMPUR, Aug. 21 -- The official distributor of XPeng in Malaysia, Bermaz XPeng, has issued a voluntary recall notice for the XPeng X9. The recall was initiated to address a similar action taken in China for X9 models produced before August 11, 2025.

According to a recall notice published last month by China's State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR), differences in the manufacturing process may have compromised the airtightness of the front air springs.

Prolonged exposure to high-temperature and humidity environments may cause the springs to gradually leak air, triggering warning lights and text alerts. In extreme cases, the air loss could compromise vehicle handling and pose safety risks.
