KOTA KINABALU, May 25 -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is expected to officiate the state-level Kaamatan Festival celebration on May 30 at the Hongkod Koisaan Hall (KDCA) in Penampang.

The festival's organising chairman Datuk Seri Panglima Dr Jeffrey Kitingan said the prime minister's attendance reflects the federal government's recognition of Sabah's culture and the uniqueness of its people.

He said the closing ceremony on May 31 would also be graced by Sabah Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Musa Aman.

"We have prepared various large-scale cultural performances to welcome our distinguished guests as well as visitors.
