KUALA LUMPUR, Nov. 4 -- Remakes are often hit or miss, as demonstrated by the numerous attempts in the world of filmmaking.

However, the Malaysian adaptation of the 2019 Tamil hit Kaithi, titled Banduan, proves that a remake can succeed when done right.

Directed by Kroll Azry, its gala premiere was held yesterday at TGV Suria KLCC, attended by an impressive lineup of Malaysian stars, along with a special guest appearance by Karthik Sivakumar, also known as Karthi, who played the lead role of Dilli in the original Tamil version.
