MIRI, July 3 -- A near-tragic incident involving a four-wheel-drive (4WD) vehicle on a deteriorating logging bridge along the road to SK Long Pelutan has renewed concerns over poor road conditions in the Baram interior.

The incident occurred on Wednesday when the vehicle reportedly slipped off while crossing a damaged bridge along the route linking Long Lama and Miri, a road frequently used by teachers travelling to and from SK Long Pelutan.

No teachers or schoolchildren were in the vehicle at the time.

The vehicle belonged to the family of Salyndra Anyta, who shared details of the incident on social media.
