India, Oct. 14 -- There is a heartbreak that the words "MTV music channel closing down" bring. It is not quite the "my crush is engaged" type, not the "my favourite coffee shop is now a co-working space" type - but something more cultural, more existential. As per recent news, MTV is finally shutting down its music channels in the UK, bringing to a close an era that used to dictate what was cool-sounding. Other sources even suggest that other markets around the world may be doing the same. The good news is as of now, there are no plans on whether MTV India will suffer the same demise - so, at least for now, our VJ memories and our nostalgia playlists remain safe. We are relieved.
