India, Dec. 25 -- When The Revenant was released in 2015, it was perceived by many as a test of one's ability to endure watching a painful ordeal. The buzz around the movie was mostly about the concept of agony. The only thing that seemed to matter in the movie, judging by the marketing and trailers, was how much the film inflicted, how much the lead actor was subjected to. Oh, and how much glory could be harvested from the suffering of the hero and the villain in the snow and the mud. Nature was a vast and harsh battlefield where man was meant to be brought down simply by outlasting him. As The Revenant turns 10, that framing no longer holds.
