New Delhi, July 26 -- Vedanta Aluminium has announced a capacity expansion of 120 kilo tonnes per annum (KTPA) for Primary Foundry Alloy (PFA) production at its Special Economic Zone facility in Jharsuguda, Odisha.

The company, which was the first in India to manufacture and supply PFAs to the domestic market, aims to strengthen India's position in the global automotive and engineering aluminium supply chain through this expansion.

Primary Foundry Alloys serve as critical materials in automotive manufacturing, particularly for components including alloy wheels, engine blocks, cylinder heads, and transmission housings.
