New Delhi, Sept. 11 -- The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has cleared the doubling of the Bhagalpur-Dumka-Rampurhat single railway line, spanning 177 km through Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal, with an estimated investment of Rs 3,169 crore.

The project is aimed at easing congestion, boosting mobility, and improving service reliability on one of the busiest stretches of the Indian Railways network.

Officials noted that the initiative aligns with the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan, which focuses on integrated infrastructure development, multi-modal connectivity, and logistics efficiency.
