New Delhi, Sept. 4 -- Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal on Wednesday chaired a meeting with Export Promotion Councils (EPCs) and industry associations to review the impact of rising global tariffs and discuss measures to safeguard India's trade competitiveness.
Senior officials from the Department of Commerce and the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) also participated.
The deliberations focused on recent tariff increases imposed on certain Indian products in key international markets.
Exporters flagged concerns over reduced competitiveness and sought targeted, sector-specific support to mitigate the impact.
