New Delhi, July 20 -- Minister of State for MSMEs Shobha Karandlaje informed Parliament on Monday that registrations on the Udyam portal have steadily increased since its launch in July 2020, reflecting growing formalisation in the micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) sector.

As of June 30, 2026, over 8.84 crore enterprises have registered on the Udyam Registration Portal (URP) and the Udyam Assist Portal (UAP).

In a written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha, Karandlaje said registrations rose from 28.13 lakh in 2020-21 (a partial year) to over 2.48 crore in 2023-24, before moderating slightly in subsequent years, indicating sustained expansion in formal MSME participation.
