New Delhi, June 19 -- India's net direct tax collections rose 14.64 per cent year-on-year (YoY) to Rs 5.21 trillion during April 1 to June 17 of the current financial year (FY27), up from Rs 4.5 trillion in the corresponding period of FY26, according to data released by the Income Tax Department on Thursday.

Gross direct tax collections increased 12.46 per cent to Rs 6.10 trillion, compared with Rs 5.42 trillion a year earlier. Refunds issued during the period rose 1.19 per cent to Rs 89,026 crore, against Rs 87,979 crore in the same period last year.
