New Delhi, Sept. 1 -- India's micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) account for nearly 50 percent of the country's manufacturing exports, around 30 percent of GDP and employ more than 328 million people, according to data cited by the Centre for Social and Economic Progress (CSEP).

MSMEs Face Growing Decarbonisation Pressure

MSMEs account for an estimated 25 percent of India's industrial emissions, making their decarbonisation crucial to the country's 2070 net-zero goal.

However, green technology adoption remains low, with only 31 percent of MSMEs using energy-efficient products and 21 percent adopting renewable energy technologies, CSEP noted.
