Shillong, Oct. 14 -- The Meghalaya Cabinet on Tuesday approved an ordinance to simplify clearance procedures for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), allowing entrepreneurs to apply for multiple approvals simultaneously to speed up the establishment of business operations.

Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma said the Meghalaya Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Facilitation and Establishment of Operations Ordinance would make it easier for businesses to obtain the necessary clearances without removing any existing regulatory requirements.

He emphasised that the Ordinance would not exempt MSMEs from any requirements but would significantly ease the process for them.
