New Delhi, July 9 -- International Road Federation (IRF) President Emeritus K.K. Kapila has urged the Delhi government to remove the price ceiling for incentives under the Delhi Electric Vehicle (EV) Policy, arguing that all electric vehicles contribute equally to reducing pollution regardless of their purchase price.

In a letter to Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Kapila said the existing eligibility criterion, which limits the 100 percent waiver of road tax and registration fees to electric vehicles with an ex-showroom price of up to Rs 30 lakh, discourages adoption in higher-priced segments.
