New Delhi, June 18 -- Indian Railways has approved the reconstruction of Shastriya Bridge in Indore Yard at a cost of Rs 139 crore, aimed at improving urban mobility, easing traffic congestion and strengthening rail-road connectivity in Madhya Pradesh.

The project forms part of Indian Railways' infrastructure modernisation programme focused on enhancing safety and improving transportation networks in urban areas.

The new bridge will be developed as a four-lane Road Over Bridge featuring a 72-metre camel-back superstructure with PSC girders and a full viaduct arrangement. To facilitate local traffic movement, 6-metre-wide service roads will be constructed on both sides beneath the bridge.
