Indian Railways Approves Rs 405 Crore Signalling Upgrade Project on Eastern Railway
New Delhi, June 18 -- Indian Railways has approved a Rs 405 crore signalling modernisation project on Eastern Railway to enhance safety, reliability and operational efficiency on some of the network's busiest routes.
The project involves replacing existing relay-based interlocking systems with Electronic Interlocking (EI) at 32 locations, including 25 Panel Interlocking (PI)/Route Relay Interlocking (RRI) stations and 7 Intermediate Block Signalling (IBS) locations situated on High Density Network (HDN) and Highly Utilised Network (HUN) routes.
