New Delhi, Aug. 4 -- India is positioning itself to become a major player in the global semiconductor industry, aiming to secure a significant portion of the projected $1 trillion market by 2030.
Union Minister of State for Electronics and IT, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, emphasised that this growth will not just come from manufacturing, but also from India's strength in chip design.
Speaking at the IESA Vision Summit 2025 in Bengaluru, Chandrasekhar said that the government is focused on creating a vibrant semiconductor ecosystem.
This includes developing skills, boosting innovation, and building capabilities in areas like compound semiconductors and advanced packaging.
