India's GDP Stood At USD 3.92 Trillion In 2025-26, Sixth-Largest Globally: Govt
New Delhi, Aug. 12 -- India was the world's sixth-largest economy in 2025-26, with a nominal gross domestic product (GDP) of USD 3.92 trillion, according to the International Monetary Fund's April 2026 World Economic Outlook, Parliament was informed.
Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary said the IMF ranking is based on nominal GDP measured at prevailing US dollar exchange rates and can change due to economic growth, currency movements, prices, revisions to national accounts and changes in the performance of other major economies.
