New Delhi, June 13 -- India's edible oil imports rose 6.7 percent year-on-year to nearly 13.39 lakh tonnes in May 2026, driven largely by higher shipments of crude soybean oil, according to data released by the Solvent Extractors' Association of India (SEA) on Friday.

Edible Oil Imports Rise On Higher Soybean Shipments

Total imports of edible oils stood at 1,338,936 tonnes, up from 1,254,883 tonnes in the same month last year. The increase was led by crude soybean oil imports, which rose sharply to 4,93,854 tonnes from 3,98,585 tonnes a year earlier, reported PTI.
