New Delhi, Aug. 26 -- The Indian government has reduced the minimum export price (MEP) for natural honey from USD 2,000 per tonne to USD 1,400 per tonne, effective immediately through December 31, 2025.

The revision was announced through a notification issued by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT).

Under the current export regulations, shipments of natural honey below the established minimum export price are prohibited.

The MEP mechanism was originally introduced in March 2024 as a regulatory measure for honey exports.

India's primary markets for honey exports include the United States, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar. The country exported honey valued at USD 177.52 million during the fiscal year 2023-24.
