New Delhi, Dec. 29 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said India plans to launch a National Manufacturing Mission (NMM) and urged states to make it top priority by creating infrastructure to attract global companies.

Speaking at the national conference of chief secretaries in Delhi, Modi said the mission would focus on ease of doing business, particularly in areas such as land availability, utilities and social infrastructure.

Push for Sectoral Growth

The Prime Minister called upon states to actively encourage manufacturing, improve ease of doing business and strengthen the services sector, reported the Mint.
