New Delhi, May 5 -- Indian refiners increased LPG production by over 30 percent in March to offset import disruptions caused by the ongoing conflict in West Asia, with higher output expected to continue in the coming months.

According to data from the Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC), Indias LPG production rose 30.8 percent year-on-year and 32 percent month-on-month to 1.4 million metric tonnes in March as cargo disruptions through the Strait of Hormuz affected supplies.

It was noticed that domestic refiners accelerated output to prevent shortages of cooking gas amid concerns over supply disruptions, reported S&P Global.
