New Delhi, Oct. 22 -- India is emerging as one of the world's fastest-growing renewable energy markets, adding between15-25 gigawatts (GW)of clean energy capacity every year, according to theMinistry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE).

Over the past decade, India's installed renewable capacity (excluding large hydro) has surged more than fivefold - from less than 35 GW in 2014 toover 197 GWtoday. This robust expansion now positions the country among global leaders in renewable deployment.

However, the MNRE said the sector's focus is gradually shifting from rapid expansion to building astrong, integrated, and reliableclean energy system.
