India, US Hold Trade Talks in New Delhi to Advance Bilateral Trade Agreement Negotiations
New Delhi, June 5 -- A delegation from the United States Trade Representative (USTR), led by the Chief Negotiator, visited New Delhi from June 1-4, 2026, to continue discussions on the proposed India-US Bilateral Trade Agreement (BTA).
The visit follows a joint statement issued by India and the United States on February 7, 2026, in which both countries agreed on a framework for an interim reciprocal trade arrangement while reaffirming their commitment to broader BTA negotiations.
During the four-day engagement, officials from both sides held discussions on a range of trade-related issues, including trade in goods, non-tariff measures, customs procedures, trade facilitation, economic security alignment, and other areas of mutual interest...
