New Delhi, Sept. 26 -- Senior officials of the Ministry of Power held discussions with French state-owned energy major Electricite de France (EDF) on the proposed deployment of European Pressurised Reactors (EPRs) in India, as the country moves towards opening its civil nuclear sector to private participation.

The discussions covered EPR deployment, India's evolving nuclear regulatory framework, pumped hydro storage projects and the broader scope for India-France energy cooperation, the Ministry of Power said.

EDF briefed Indian officials on efforts to develop a domestic ecosystem and supply chain to support large-scale localisation of its nuclear technology, reported Indian Express.
