New Delhi, Dec. 26 -- Housing sales in the top Indian 7 cities witnessed a 14% decline in 2025 as hardening property prices, lay-offs in IT sector and other uncertainties stemming from geopolitical tensions took the sheen off the residential real estate market during the year, as per a study released on Friday by ANAROCK Research.

The ANAROCK data showed around 3,95,625 residential units worth over Rs 6 lakh crore were sold in 2025 as against 4,59,645 units worth more than Rs 5.68 lakh crore in 2024.

As per property consultant ANAROCK, Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) witnessed the highest sales of about 1,27,875 units in 2025, registering an 18% yearly decline. Pune followed with about 65,135 units sold, declining by 20% year-on-year (...
