Bhopal, July 31 -- The Telecom Manufacturing Zone (TMZ) being established in Gwalior is expected to attract Rs 10,000-12,000 crore investment across two phases, Union Minister for Communications Jyotiraditya Scindia said.

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and the Madhya Pradesh government have signed an MoU to establish the TMZ across 170 acres in Gwalior, reported PTI.

Gwalior Telecom Zone Draws Rs 3,500 Crore First-Phase Commitments

The first phase was initially targeted to attract Rs 2,000 crore investment and generate around 4,500 jobs.

However, companies participating in a roundtable following the MoU signing committed around Rs 3,500 crore in investments and nearly 14,500 employment opportunities.
