Lucknow, Sept. 5 -- The Greater Noida Authority Board has approved plans to develop dedicated workers' housing and labour hostels to provide affordable accommodation to workers employed or seeking employment in the city.

Following state government directions, the Authority will construct EWS-sized workers' housing in Patwari and Birondi villages. Land for the project has already been identified, with construction expected to begin by the end of this year after completion of the required formalities.

The initiative is aimed at providing workers an affordable alternative to expensive private housing.
