New Delhi, March 30 -- The government has undertaken multiple measures to ensure grid stability amid rising renewable energy (RE) capacity, Minister of State for Power Shripad Naik said in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha today.
The minister said steps such as setting up Regional Energy Management Centres for real-time monitoring, implementing Automatic Generation Control, and deploying advanced technologies like STATCOMs and synchronous condensers are being taken.
Measures including SCADA systems under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme and improved weather forecasting with Indian Space Research Organisation are also supporting grid management.
