New Delhi, Dec. 2 -- The Centre has released Rs 68,393.67 crore to states and Union Territories under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) in the current financial year.

The update, covering releases up to November 26, 2025, was shared by Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in the Lok Sabha on Monday.

All admissible pending wage liabilities up to FY 2024-25 have been cleared for every state except West Bengal, the minister said.

He added that wage payments are processed daily through Public Financial Management System (PFMS), with funds directly credited to beneficiaries after states issue transfer orders.
