New Delhi, Aug. 5 -- Agricultural Action Plans have been initiated in Assam, Goa, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Andaman & Nicobar Islands based on agro-climatic conditions and local agricultural requirements.

The information was given by Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Ramnath Thakur in a written reply in the Lok Sabha.

The roadmaps are being prepared by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, ICAR institutes, State Governments, State Agricultural Universities and experts.

The planning considers agro-climatic regions, natural resources, climate resilience, technology interventions and farmers' needs.
