New Delhi, July 20 -- The government has extended the exemption timeline for certain renewable energy projects under the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) List-II framework until December 31, 2026.

The decision applies specifically to net-metering and open access renewable energy projects, providing them additional time to comply with sourcing requirements for solar photovoltaic (PV) cells.

No Change in Core ALMM Policy

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) clarified that there is no change in the overall ALMM policy.
