New Delhi, April 1 -- The government has extended the National Piped Natural Gas (PNG) Drive 2.0 by three months until June 30, aiming to accelerate the adoption of piped gas amid supply constraints of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in the country.
The initiative, which was earlier scheduled to conclude on March 31, is part of efforts to increase the share of natural gas to 15 per cent in Indias energy mix.
Under the programme, the government plans to expand pipeline connectivity to 37 additional geographical areas and 44 districts that are currently not connected to the PNG network, according to Business Standard.
