New Delhi, April 20 -- The central government has approved a set of procurement measures covering potatoes in Uttar Pradesh, chana in Andhra Pradesh, and an extension of tur procurement in Karnataka.

The decisions, cleared by Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, are aimed at ensuring farmers receive remunerative prices and are protected from distress sales amid market volatility.

Potato Procurement Approved in Uttar Pradesh

The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare has approved the Uttar Pradesh governments proposal to procure potatoes under the Market Intervention Scheme (MIS) for the 2025 26 agricultural year.
