New Delhi, Aug. 7 -- The government is preparing to introduce a formal regulatory framework for digital gold by next year, aiming to enhance transparency, strengthen consumer protection and standardise operations in the rapidly growing investment segment.

Government, Regulators Hold Consultations On Digital Gold Framework

The proposed framework follows consultations involving the Ministry of Finance, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), the Ministry of Consumer Affairs and the Digital Precious Metals Assurance Council of India (DPMACI), a self-regulatory body established earlier this year by leading digital gold providers and fintech platforms.
