Formal Adoption of UPI in Greece Advances Bilateral Ties and India's Global Digital Footprint
New Delhi, July 1 -- Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal witnessed the launch of Unified Payments Interface (UPI) services in Greece during his visit to Athens, following a partnership between Eurobank and NPCI International Payments Limited (NIPL).
The launch enables eligible customers to make instant and secure digital payments using UPI in Greece, marking another step in the international expansion of India's digital payments platform.
During the visit, Goyal attended a demonstration of the UPI service at Eurobank headquarters and held discussions with the bank's leadership on financial cooperation and investment opportunities.
