New Delhi, May 12 -- Chief Justice of India (CJI) Surya Kant has constituted a 'Judicial Infrastructure Advisory Committee' to develop a comprehensive roadmap for upgrading court infrastructure across India.

The panel will focus on securing government support and funding in the range of Rs 40,000-Rs 50,000 crore for courts nationwide.

According to a communication issued on May 8, 2026 by Supreme Court Secretary General Bharat Parashar, the committee will outline infrastructure requirements and present its recommendations to Sanjeev Sanyal, a member of the Economic Advisory Council to Prime Minister (EAC-PM).
