Raipur, April 24 -- The Chhattisgarh cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, has approved a series of measures aimed at promoting womens property ownership, supporting defence personnel and strengthening the mining and agriculture sectors.
50 percent cut in registration charges for women
In a major step toward womens economic empowerment, the cabinet approved a 50 percent reduction in land registration charges for properties registered in the name of women, reported Hindustan Times.
The move is expected to encourage greater asset ownership among women, despite an estimated revenue impact of around Rs 153 crore on the state exchequer.
