New Delhi, Aug. 14 -- At a National Stakeholder Consultation titled"Comprehensive Analysis of Regulatory Framework on Food Labelling, Advertisement and Claims,"the Government of India renewed its call for ethical practices in the food sector.

Organised by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the consultation drew participation from around 700 stakeholders-including government agencies, industry representatives, consumer groups, academics, and experts.

In her opening remarks, Health Secretary Punya Salila Srivastava highlighted the urgency of keeping pace with global best practices.
