New Delhi, May 11 -- The Ministry of Mines will launch the second tranche of limestone block auctions in Jammu and Kashmir on May 12 in Srinagar, as part of efforts to expand mineral development and industrial activity in the Union Territory.

Under the second tranche, 12 limestone blocks will be offered for auction in collaboration with the Jammu & Kashmir administration. The blocks are located across Anantnag, Rajouri and Poonch districts and include both newly identified mines and blocks being re-auctioned after earlier bidding rounds.
