New Delhi, May 13 -- The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved the Ahmedabad (Sarkhej) Dholera Semi High-Speed Double Line railway project in Gujarat at an estimated cost of around Rs 20,667 crore.
The proposed project is Indian Railways' first semi high-speed rail corridor using indigenous technology.
The projects is targeted for completion by 2030-31.
The proposed railway line will provide faster connectivity between Ahmedabad, Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR), the upcoming Dholera Airport and the Lothal National Maritime Heritage Complex.
