New Delhi, March 10 -- The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has extended the validity of licences for the use of its Standard Mark from two years to five years. This rule under the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Amendment Regulations, 2026, aims at improving ease of doing business for industry. Licence Validity Amended Under the amended provisions of Schedule-II, Scheme-I, BIS licences will now be initially granted for up to five years and may be renewed for further five-year periods, subject to payment of annual fees on an advance yearly basis.
