New Delhi, March 2 -- Union Minister for Electronics and IT Ashwini Vaishnaw on Sunday said 3 more semiconductor plants will begin commercial production in 2026, taking the total to 4 operational units out of the 10 projects approved so far.
His remarks came a day after Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the Micron ATMP (Assembly, Test, Marking and Packaging) facility in Sanand, Gujarat, marking the start of commercial production.
Addressing a semiconductor-focused conference, Vaishnaw said, "The promise he (PM Modi) made to the country that the semiconductor industry has to be brought to India, he fulfilled that promise. This is the first step."
