Afghanistan, Aug. 12 -- Millions of young Afghans are facing unemployment, poverty and shrinking opportunities as a worsening humanitarian crisis and the return of millions of migrants put further pressure on an already fragile economy.
The challenges come as Afghanistan marks World Youth Day on August 12, an occasion highlighting the role of young people in economic and social development.
For many Afghan youths, years of education and skills training have failed to translate into stable employment. With formal jobs scarce, many have turned to informal work, low-paid labour or migration in search of better opportunities.
