Afghanistan, Sept. 28 -- The U.S. Treasury Secretary urged all nations to enforce restored UN sanctions on Iran, warning Tehran's nuclear programme threatens peace, security, and international stability.

U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bassant said the UN Security Council's decision to restore sanctions on Iran shows the world will not bow to Tehran's threats. He stressed that all UN member states are obliged to immediately enforce the measures.

Speaking on Sunday, Bassant described Iran's nuclear programme as a threat to U.S. peace and prosperity. He added that President Trump had given Tehran every opportunity to reach a deal, but its leaders "remained unserious."
