Afghanistan, June 27 -- Venezuela's government said on Friday that the death toll from this week's powerful earthquakes had risen to 920, while 3,360 people have been injured, as rescue teams continued searching collapsed buildings and fears grew that the number of victims could rise further.

Authorities said more than 50,000 missing-person reports had been submitted through an online registration platform, while the U.N.'s emergency relief office reported similar estimates, highlighting the scale of the disaster.
