Afghanistan, March 3 -- The United States Department of State has urged American citizens to immediately leave more than 15 Middle Eastern countries following Iranian attacks across the region.

According to Reuters, the State Department advised US nationals in countries including Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Yemen to use commercial flights to depart as soon as possible.

The warning comes after Iran targeted US military bases in the Middle East in retaliation for joint US and Israeli strikes on Iranian territory.
